February 2025 Website Update: Coexist Photography will be closing in May 2025. While I love photographing special moments, my day job is too demanding to fully allocate the time I need for photographing events. This website has been trimmed down and nearly all work removed. From May 2025, all photos will be completely removed and the website closed.
Lantern Festival
Out near Tooele Utah, people come together with one purpose in mind; to write special things on a paper lantern and send it out into the universe, hopeful that those things will come true that they wrote on the lantern. It was so moving to see thousands of lanterns fly up in the air. For those green-conscious, there is a team that follows the lanterns to pick them up when they land, so they don't add trash to the earth! Lanterns, friends, families and loved ones, engagements, lovers, music, food and drinks. A perfect evening!
Traditionally, Lantern Festival, also called Yuan Xiao Festival, holiday celebrated in China and other Asian countries that honors deceased ancestors on the 15th day of the first month (Yuan) of the lunar calendar. The Lantern Festival aims to promote reconciliation, peace, and forgiveness.
